Swanage's Victorian Pier; Corfe to Swanage Railway; Corfe Castle; Monkey World; Bovington Tank Museum and Brownsea Island

 

Swanage town is a traditional English seaside town with a few clothes and toy shops, but has extensive cafes, pubs and restaurants covering all tastes and budgets.

 

The Co-op and Budgens supermarkets have essential food, but other major supermarkets do now also deliver into Swanage!

 

The thriving Swanage steam railway line offers a service between Swanage and Corfe Castle.  For more information see: Swanage Railway.

 

The Swanage pier provides fishing, diving and ferry excursions to to Brownsea Island, Isle of Wight,  and Sandbanks..  For more information see: The Swanage Pier Trust

 

Tennis - Courts and a Pitch & Putt Course are located just behind the main beach, see Swanage Tennis Club

 

Golf - Isle of Purbeck Golf Course is 4/5 miles away see Purbeck Golf Club

 

In addition to the places above, also popular are the Durlston Country Park (National Nature Reserve and newly re-furbished Castle); the RSPB Arne Bird Sanctuary; the deserted village of Tyneham; the Dorchester Dinosaur Museum and, a little further afield, Hardy's Monument
